Dion Fortune

Dion Fortune was a woman steeped in mysticism and enamoured with Eastern mystics traditions.

Dion, born Violet Mary Firth, created The Fraternity of the Inner Light. Sje had many interests that intersected with her work, particularly in creating the Fraternity of the Inner Light, later known as the Society of the Inner Light.  These included psychology, psychoanalysis, psychotherapy as well as mediumship, the Occult and ceremonial magic.

Dion created a version of Western Mysticism taking inspiration from Eastern philosophy as well as the guidance she received through channelling. 

Dion created a Cosmic doctrine, training for what she call the initiates in her order. 

But what I most love about Dion is that she understood the importance of the Collective, that a group of people could come together and with the other worldly and metaphysical work, they could create something together with the Other Worldly, for the highest good of all.

When you search for Dion online, it talks about her as an occultist, a ceremonial magician and a writer but that description is a populist one.  Dion was so much more than that.

Dion was a researcher of the metaphysical, had an extensive understanding of the human psyche through her work and as a result created her own doctrine.  A way that she thought was the one to live intuitively and spiritually

And if you ever visit Glastonbury you can visit the cemetery and grave of Violet Mary Firth, known As Dion Fortune.
