21st September: Days for Gratitude and Peace
Do you believe in coincidences? Or do you think there is reason or meaning behind everything, even if you do not know what it is?
Maybe it is no coincidence that World Gratitude Day and International Day of Peace are on the same day (Monday 21st September). When you really feel grateful, that is feel and not just writing a list of what the stuff you are grateful for, but the feeling of it, then a feeling of peace accompanies it. Well it does for me.
In a world that feels so fragmented, negative and has lost reasoning and compassion, it can feel difficult to be grateful and even more difficult to feel peaceful. Gratitude and peace do not make the news. Conflict and hate do. So how we do as individuals counteract all of this drama?
Start by being grateful for a peaceful world. Be grateful for the peace you have in your life. (Even if that peaceful time is 5 minutes in your morning shower when you have no interruptions). Make time to for peaceful activities. Embrace being a grateful and peaceful person and turn this into action in terms of how you act, speak and the words you use.
Gratitude and peace are also reminders of our own empowerment. We can choose to live with reason and compassion. We can rise above the drama and create our own peaceful life filled with gratitude. When more of us do that, changes happens in the world and each one of us can make that difference.
Gratitude is the anti-dote to shifting from a negative thinking pattern to a positive and abundant one. If you feel you are missing something in life, you do not have enough money or are concerned about anything you do not have, take a breath and be grateful for what you have. Remember, when it comes to co-creating (manifesting), the Universe is like a mirror and gives you more of what you are focused on. If our predominant thoughts are about lack and conflict, that is what we get more of. When we are focused on gratitude, peace, compassion and abundance, that is what comes back to us.
At the end of each day, one of my friends, completes her gratitude journal. She feels into what she is grateful for each day and at the of a week/month, she can see how her feelings and moods have shifted.
To encourage more of us to feel into gratitude and peace, the gratitude journals are available at a discount price for the next 48 hours. You can order yours here.
