Intuitive and Spiritual Living: Self Health Part One
When I chose to celebrate Homeopathy Awareness Week which starts on 10th April, it felt right because it aligned with my values and beliefs. I began in my usual way of firstly tuning in to the Other Worldly for guidance and then secondly, as I do for most observance days, I looked online for ‘official’ information about the purpose of the observance day. That was when it struck me like a thunderbolt.
On the first page of the website for Homeopathy Awareness week, in the first paragraph of that page it states the awareness week is a celebration of homeopathy and a commemoration “of the birth date of Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, who was born on the 10th April, 1755.” That stopped me in my tracks, for I know with my heart and soul, that homeopathy is way older than that. It is something ancient and enduring, that Ancestors all over the world would have used. So why is credit given to one man in the 18th century for something that is Ancient Wisdom?
Whilst homeopathy aligns to my values and beliefs, I am disrupting and diverting my celebration of homeopathy week to honour all the women and men in history who healed with plants, food and created natural remedies, likely including remedies that we are today referred to as homeopathy. The reputation of these men and women today may that be that of witches, wizards, magicians and such like. Although I respect him for his work on homeopathy, I also find it hard to read that the ‘creation’ of homeopathy is attributed to a man two hundred years ago, when throughout history, such treatment was likely considered a normal practice.
I choose to continue my celebration in a positive way and instead for the next week I am expanding my celebration and will share information, guidance, books and whatever else I can source to celebrate and honour our Ancestors, who were denounced for using herbal treatments and in some cases, lost their lives. I am going to celebrate, the choices that we have today to take responsibility for and manage our self health. Self-Health for me is the choice on how I treat and care for my body, mind and soul. Does this resonate and make you feel something too?
I would love you to join me on the journey this week, as we explore and celebrate our Self-Health. Subscribe to my YT channel and you can receive all that information, celebrations, ideas and guidance on this Self-Health journey.
